Dick Weaver graduated from U.S.C. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance. Mr. Weaver began his professional life by diving into the high-tech industry as Manager, Communications for a small, family-owned company, Anadex, Inc. Over a three-year period, Weaver positioned it to become a multi-national leader in the personal computer peripherals market setting the stage for its sale. Legendary publicist Norman Winter then approached Weaver to become VP where he further honed his marketing and PR skills working across a wide spectrum of fortune 500 companies and A-list celebrity clientele. He then became Director of Marketing and Engineering for Japan-based Itochu, one of the world’s largest international trading companies, where he oversaw the development, production, marketing, sales and distribution of all dot matrix and laser printing products. After Itochu, Weaver went on to pursue his entrepreneurial interests founding Tale Weaver Publishing, Inc., a general-interest book publishing company, and PR Works, a high-end PR firm. As a promotional outreach program, Weaver co-founded Hunter Media, a software product company that developed digital media content for the nation’s most prestigious universities including Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, and for organizations such as the N.F.L., U.S. Sprint, Forbes, and other Fortune 500 companies. Tale Weaver has published many books including “Hollywood Legends: The Golden Years of The Hollywood Reporter” and "The Ruby Slippers of Oz," in conjunction with the 50th-anniversary celebration of "The Wizard of Oz." PR Works has launched hundreds of high-profile clients including the North American and European campaigns for liquor behemoth, Patron Tequila. Drawing from his background spanning the fields of technology, marketing, finance, international relations, and entertainment, his aim is to use new and creative techniques for high-end image building.
Oversaw and managed the development, production, marketing, sales and distribution of all dot matrix and laser printing products to consumer, government and OEM markets. Notable Milestone/s: Launched the retail sector for dot matrix and laser printing products. Directed the sale, from RFB (Request for Bid) to closing, of customized dot matrix printers to every California DMV office statewide which resulted in future sales to DMV offices in each state across the nation culminating in $10 million + in sales revenue.
Worked on a slate of corporate clients fulfilling their PR needs which included CBS, 3M, Motown, and ASCAP, to name a few as well as a-list celebrity clients Michael Jackson, Joan Collins, Elton John, Neil Diamond, and many others.
Responsibilities included all aspects of traditional Mar Com role (branding, advertising, PR, trade shows, sales meetings) as well as development and presentation of all sales training materials to worldwide sales force and distributors for this manufacturer of dot matrix printers. Notable Milestone: Over a three-year period, Weaver positioned the small privately held Anadex as a multi-national leader in the personal computer peripherals market, setting the stage for its sale.
