• As a member of the SA (System Administration) Tools team, designed, implemented, tested and trouble-shot a suite of web-based configuration and administrative tools for the Cisco Unity Connection voicemail system, running in Windows and Linux. • Developed auto-generated junit tests for business and data object layers and implemented build-time running of the test suite, reducing the time to write and run tests by 33%. • Designed and developed GUI to display real-time monitoring statistics of the system and log the activity. This tool allowed users to view system activity without the need to repeatedly press a refresh button. It also added several configuration options for logging, meeting a stated need of internal and external customers. • Implemented a web-based setup and configuration wizard built from components of the SA. This tool improved on the older setup wizard by reducing the number of pages by more than 50% , thereby requiring less input from the user. • Successfully implemented product enhancements in collaboration with remote teams in California, Colorado, Texas and India. • Provided technical support to customers worldwide for any issues that could not be handled by Cisco customer support technicians.
• As a member of the NMS/Tools group, designed and developed a suite of Java-based GUI applications for interfacing with and managing Fixed Wireless telecommunications products. Developed JavaScript scripting interface for tools. Aided migration of standalone app to client-server architecture. • Developed Visual Basic/C++ Palm OS-compatible application to run on Palm Computing Platform-compatible devices. Researched, designed, and implemented a Java conduit to synchronize data between the Palm handheld and a remote database via communication over the network with a webserver, allowing field technicians to run diagnostics using a handheld device rather than a laptop or truck-mounted computer. • Created PC installers for various applications using InstallShield Express. Created C++ DLL to be called from installation program. Integrated software components from various team members, dropped nightly builds, updated release notes, and made development and production releases. • Performed unit and system integration testing. Troubleshot issues on-site and off-site and quickly resolved defects. Provided updates and status reports to team members, project managers and directors. • Produced software design documents and presented designs to managers and members of technical staff. Performed code walkthroughs and provided feedback on fellow team members’ code. Performed product demonstrations and training.
