About

I serve as an arbitrator in international, investment, intellectual property, and complex commercial disputes, with particular focus on disputes in the technology, telecom, life sciences, new energy, and investment / investor-state sectors. I have handled more than 375 arbitrations as neutral or advocate in three dozen jurisdictions around the world. For additional information: www.HuebnerArbitration.com . My professional background is a mix of legal, international, executive, consulting, and public service experience, and that diversity informs my approach to decision-making, process, and efficiency. I have lived and worked for extended periods in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, and New Zealand, and have extensive professional experience elsewhere in East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. I served from 2009 to 2014 as the American Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa. Before that I practiced international law for many years as a partner in large law firms where I held senior management positions and handled arbitration, compliance, and regulatory cases in jurisdictions in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition to my ADR practice, I currently serve as senior advisor to a management consulting firm. I have been designated a "Chartered Arbitrator" (its highest qualification) by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and been named to the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center's "Tech List" of the "world's most accomplished technology neutrals." I have been licensed solicitor in England & Wales and am a member of the Bars of California, New York, and the District of Columbia.
