Marine Engineer with a decade of hands-on experience operating and maintaining safety-critical mechanical and power systems in 24/7 mission-critical environments. Background in MW-scale diesel generation, cooling and ventilation, fire suppression, fuel conditioning and alarm-driven operations in manned and unmanned machinery spaces. Strong focus on redundancy, procedural compliance, and operational risk control. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, executing shipboard operations, and leading or supporting major projects independently or in collaboration with OEM and technical teams. Driven to support next-generation technologies and decarbonization efforts.
Sailed as Second Assistant Engineer ( Sea time: 30 months) ▪Managed marine boilers (7–20 bar) from OEMs such as Aalborg (Alfa Laval), Kangrim, and Saacke, including water testing, chemical treatment, burner tuning, cold start-up and troubleshooting. ▪Optimised waste heat recovery (WHR) systems and supported steam turbine operations for cargo pumping and propulsion power generation (10 - 15 MW). ▪Prepared marine boilers for annual, class, and third-party surveys, ensuring all inspection requirements were met and documentation was up to standard. ▪Operated and maintained 4-stroke marine diesel engines from OEMs such as Wärtsilä, MAN B&W, Yanmar and Himsen, ensuring reliable and efficient plant performance. ▪Conducted preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance across all shipboard machinaries while maintaining redundancy and live operations. ▪Operated and maintained freshwater generators, Sewage treatment plants ( EVACs), variety of pumps, ejectors, HVAC systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment. ▪Handled spare parts cataloguing from requisition to inventory control, maintaining stock levels while ensuring cost efficiency. ▪Interpreted OEM manuals and engineering drawings to perform root-cause analysis, fault finding, spares requisition and system performance restoration. ▪Supported dry-dock projects for Aframax chemical and product tankers, including machinery overhauls, testing, and commissioning of critical systems (Conceptual to commissioning). ▪Operated and maintained Exhaust gas scrubber systems and SCR systems to meet SOx and NOx emission requirements. ▪Ensured full compliance with OEM procedures and classification society standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register) as well as IMO regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS, etc).
Sailed as Third Assistant Engineer ( Sea time: 16 months) ▪Operated and maintained marine fuel centrifuge purifiers from OEMs such as Alfa Laval, Mitsubishi and Westfalia(GEA), ensuring efficient fuel and lube oil conditioning. ▪Operated and maintained incinerators from OEMs such as Alfa Laval, Atlas, and TeamTec in full compliance with environmental and safety regulations. ▪Performed maintenance and operational diagnostics on heat exchangers, fuel conditioning units, and related systems. ▪Managed fuel, lube oil, and chemical storage, along with requisition, bunkering, and inventory control for global tanker operations. ▪Worked across multiple vessel systems, including cargo handling, inert gas, steam, cooling, and ventilation systems. ▪Oversaw the operation and maintenance of reciprocating and screw-type compressors and a wide variety of onboard pumps. ▪Operated inert gas generators and cargo pumping systems with discharge capacities of up to 80,000 tonnes/day, ensuring safe and efficient loading/discharging. ▪Ensured full compliance with OEM procedures and classification society standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register) as well as IMO regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS, etc).
Sailed as Junior Engineer (Sea Time: 10 months) ▪Enhanced OEM manual interpretation and fault-finding capabilities through hands-on troubleshooting of critical machinery. ▪Gained operational experience with cargo pumping systems, including Alfa Laval–Framo, Marflex and marine boiler–driven steam turbines (up to 20 bar). ▪Developed strong proficiency in condition monitoring practices, contributing to improved reliability and efficiency of onboard systems. ▪Utilised and interpreted a range of onboard testing kits to support accurate condition monitoring, ensuring safe and efficient machinery operation.
▪Gained hands-on exposure to shipboard systems and operational safety procedures.
