I joined RKW as the floorcare senior buyer sourcing Vacuum Cleaners, Steam Cleaners and associated product across three different brands and OEM product for the companies major clients, all from the far east. I reported directly to the Buying Director and supervised a small department of assistant buyer and admin to cover an annual spend of circa $ 20 million. During my time with the company I sourced and updated the existing range of Tower branded floorcare alongside refreshing the Swan offering of floorcare. additionally, I sourced a completely new range of Goblin branded product, which was aimed at a more premium market and an effort for the company to raise its market share into the sector. I also sourced new OEM product which were requested by our existing customer base, to give them better pricing / improved specification, and to help them with ensuring stock security.
I joined Cascade Holdings Limited at the end of December 2016 on a short term consultancy basis to investigate a new range of product that they wanted sourcing in China. Due to the success of the work done, I have remained with this company working on several new areas that they are interested in, and this has involved travelling to China on a regular basis to attend trade fairs, visit and audit prospective factories to decide on their suitability and professionalism, and to source ranges. I reported directly to the Chairman, of the company who hired me personally and in many instances was the driving force behind many of the new product ranges, the company asked me to look into. I also sourced new product which were requested by our existing customer base, to give them a more robust supply / better pricing / improved specification, and to help them solve problem areas from their existing supplier base.
I joined Powell Marketing Limited in the beginning of October 2010 to source a range of Christmas Lighting to develop as a new product area for the company. I have now added to the business a range of Christmas product and summer product, which they are selling into various supermarkets across their client base. I liaised with the sales team to identify areas for new business opportunities, as well as attended meetings with Major clients to clarify their future requirements and how we could provide a service to increase business. During my time with Powell I have further increased my contacts within the Far East adding some stationary companies to my contact list.
