Manager of a prestigious contract that delivers facilities services across a nationwide portfolio of both manned and unmanned buildings including the air traffic control towers at Dublin, Cork, and Shannon airports. Responsibility for over 30 staff covering both hard and soft services. The contract covers all aspects of FM delivery for the client with specific importance on budget management across planned preventative maintenance and project works. Delivering FM services while also adhering to strict security procedures and without disrupting vital operational processes is key to the client’s needs. Financial oversight of the contract is required on an ongoing basis to ensure overall profitability and to identify new business opportunities. Balancing the needs of a client while also overseeing the billing process, staff management, contractor performance, reporting, compliance, reactive tasks, project delivery, and a regular meeting schedule, is the minimum expectation of this role.
Manager of a nationwide mechanical & electrical helpdesk for the Office of Public Works. Leading a large team of both technical and non-technical staff to provide M&E services to government department occupied buildings throughout Ireland. Supporting OPW procurement by identifying and negotiating with sub-contractors on contracted maintenance services and reactive / planned additional works. Developing internal processes and procedures to better manage the ever increasing workload with the resources available. Responsible for the monthly billing and development of the service provided to best serve the client and preserve a harmonious working relationship with Aramark. Strong HR skills acquired in a fast paced office environment for a demanding client. Mentoring, developing, and motivating a team of administration and technical staff to work together to ensure a seamless service was the biggest daily challenge.
Sole responsibility for the retention and growth of the company’s maintenance portfolio, which was achieved by developing close relationships with customers and building on an already excellent market reputation. The identification of new business opportunities, tendering for new contracts, and resolving account issues were major factors of this role. The ability to discuss technical issues directly with the customer due to having a lift engineer qualification was vital. Strong administration skills were necessary to succeed in this role due to the demand to meet tendering deadlines and to ensure the updating of in house systems was completed on time. There was a requirement to understand contractual terms and conditions and communicate these to the service department.
Servicing of Lifts throughout Dublin and surrounding areas. Specifically located in Dublin City Centre this role had the responsibility of maintaining lifts in the most prestigious government owned buildings in the country. Safety was the primary concern for both the customers and the engineers. Being a qualified electrician is required before an approximate two year period of training can be completed to obtain a lift engineer qualification. Fault finding in pressurised situations was a regular occurrence. The ability to problem solve while also trying to maintain calmness under pressure was paramount. Apart from the obvious technical knowledge required to properly maintain lifts, strong personal skills are needed to ensure people understood the nature of the work being carried out and feel confident in your ability to ensure their lift was fit for use.
Carrying out first and second fixing of domestic and commercial wiring projects around the country with significant time spent on data cabling, Experience with gas detection systems and also control panel wiring. Responsible for multiple apprentices across a range of projects to deliver jobs on time and within budget. This role required strong work ethic and the ability to endure tough conditions to meet targets and deadlines. Reading of wiring diagrams and understanding office plan layouts was some of the skills acquired during this period.
