My son and 3 of his colleagues are starting an online school for secondary school Gifted Students. Grades 9-12. Starting a school of his own has been a lifetime goal for my son so I'm going to help it be a success. I'll be handling all of the business side of things while he and his colleagues focus on the high level education they intend to deliver. Northern Hall School will offer a comprehensive, live online high school community that will allow students beginning in 9th grade to pursue rigorous academics while engaging safely in the essential social experience that lives at the core of the best sorts of education. We will also allow students and their families to experience the consistency and reliability that they are used to (or should be used to) experiencing from academic institutions while maintaining a healthy school-life balance that too often wilts in the midst of serious academic work. More information will be posted to the Northern Hall School website at https://www.northernhallschool.com/ and on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.

    Jun 2017 - Mar 2019 · 1 yr 10 mos

My wife Susan and I moved to Limestone to be closer to my son and his family. I will continue to work at DennisMcCartney.com and GlobalDigitalDesigns.net. I have added the responsibility of being the Coordinator for Economic Development for both the Chamber of Commerce and the separate Limestone Development Foundation. These organizations have needed a person to work with businesses that could locate to Limestone. The town is interested in welcoming retail and other personal service companies to the area as well as being able to welcome larger organizations to the former Loring Air Force base now operating as the Loring Development Authority. The LDA operates the former Air Force Base at Loring and is the largest industrial park in Maine and the only one with a 12,100 ft long runway that can accommodate the largest planes in the world. With over 3,700 acres of developed area Loring has the capacity to support new business development with a variety of existing modern and practical buildings and developable sites supported by high-capacity municipal utility infrastructure and a newly constructed dark fiber network. In addition, Loring is the home of the Loring Job Corps training school where students can learn a skill that is useful in today's job market and a skill that companies locating to Loring will find invaluable. Go here for a look at the career training being offered now: http://loring.jobcorps.gov/vocations.aspx I worked with Carl Flora, President Loring Commerce center to have both the town of Limestone and Loring Commerce Center be declared Opportunity Zones as designated by the government under the 2017 Tax and Jobs Act. An Opportunity Zone investor can invest in our area and avoid taxes. See much more info at http://www.opportunityzone.me . This is an exciting development for our town and will have an impact on all of Northern Maine!
