With over 26 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and operations within the K-12 education sector, I have a proven track record in managing maintenance, deferred maintenance, and capital improvement projects. My expertise spans modernization and new construction design, project estimating and scheduling, public works bidding processes, delivery methods, contract administration, and DSA procedures. I have extensive experience collaborating with architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants, and various agencies to ensure project success. I play a leadership role in all phases of project management, from design to closeout, with a strong emphasis on new construction, modernization, and deferred maintenance initiatives. Oversees the preparation of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for new construction, modernization, and deferred maintenance projects while coordinating necessary services. Acts as the District liaison during design and documentation, facilitating meetings with staff and consultants. Administers contracts, monitors contractor progress, evaluates schedules, and ensures deadlines are met. Supervises personnel, manages labor compliance issues, and works with public agencies on school planning and construction. Develops and reviews District standards for buildings, systems, and equipment, ensuring designs meet compliance and project requirements. Expedites projects through regulatory reviews and addresses fire, life-safety, and access deficiencies in existing facilities while collaborating with construction professionals.
Implements the maintenance control program through continuous inspection of facilities and ground structures; identifies structural, mechanical and electrical deficiencies; collects data to promote the assessment of site conditions; identifies corrective action to bring facilities up to an established level of maintenance and reduce the number of breakdowns and cost of repairs; develops a deferred maintenance plan to more efficiently utilize labor, material, and contract monies.
