Currently, I am a Facilities Coordinator at UBC, where I manage projects focusing on preventative maintenance and renovation projects for the Student Housing department. I am an architect and researcher with a background in sustainability and housing. I like the behind-the-scenes—the machinery that runs a place. Hence, you could say that my career development is a bit unorthodox. I like to help Others by making their lives easier. I will find ways to simplify processes by thinking outside the box or painstakingly analyzing how to do them efficiently - the perks of doing a Ph.D. I have been working in universities around the world since 2016. Although I have worked in different types of jobs, I believe in my ability to adapt and use my skills to do my job efficiently. I have organized events, managed budgets, taught and engaged students with the university, and won't hesitate to ask for help and help others. My research interests give me a unique perspective. Working in housing doing qualitative research left me with the ability to empathize, listen, and adapt. If you are interested in my research, My Ph.D. research looked at the processes of housing procurement, its urban impact, the understanding of sustainability in social housing, and how sustainability might be addressed in this housing sector.
Managing renovation projects across existing student residences. From planning to execution, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external contractors to upgrade and maintain safe, functional, and welcoming living spaces for students. Focusing on minimizing disruption while delivering projects that improve the students experience.
Assist with documentation, work request processes for buildings, payroll and support the team to facilitate the work at the department.
Assisting the Enrolment Department with reviewing undergraduate applications.
Providing customer support, and resolving any concerns regarding products and online orders. Assisting with office, accounting, and inventory procedures.
Tutoring course Architectural Design – Clients and Culture to third-year architecture students.
Designed housing renovation in Cloppenburg, Germany. It included architectural drawings and visualisations.
•Provided support for the Architectural Design module. This module was for second-year architecture students. I co-leaded and co-created the architectural brief for a group of 20 students. This module introduces an understanding of the importance of context in architectural design. This is achieved through design briefs that present increased scale levels throughout both semesters. •My responsibilities included providing one-to-one feedback and marking the students’ coursework.
