This course covered the core concepts of the Internet and the World Wide Web, focusing on website development using HTML and CSS. Key topics included the history and evolution of the Internet, domain management, web hosting, and other essential elements necessary for launching a website on the World Wide Web. Additionally, JavaScript, a versatile object-oriented programming language, was explored to add dynamic features and interactivity to websites. The course provided the skills and knowledge required to create, manage, and deploy websites in today’s digital landscape.
As Chair of the Tampa ACS Younger Chemists Committee, I led initiatives to support and engage early-career chemists within the local community. I oversaw the planning and execution of professional development events, grant writing, networking opportunities, and outreach activities aimed at fostering collaboration, education, and career advancement for young chemists. My role involved working closely with committee members, industry professionals, and academic leaders to create a dynamic and supportive environment for the next generation of chemistry professionals in the Tampa area.
