I am passionate about marine environment conservation. I've worked in the marine field for several years and I believe that the world will be a better place if aquatic environments are safeguarded.
My research focuses on the estimation of blue carbon stocks of the mangrove forest ecosystems in Tanzania and their feasibility for the Voluntary Blue carbon market trading, for climate mitigation and supporting the Tanzanian coastal communities.
Blue Carbon Tanzania (BCT) works with coastal communities in Tanzania to protect, restore, and maximize benefits for marine ecosystems (seagrasses, mangroves, coral reefs etc) and build resilience of the coastal communities through additional alternative sources of income.
I assisted in a research topic entitled “Ecological diversification, recent evolution, and speciation of Amphipoda in the polar regions; the case study of Eusirus genus.
I participated in the catch assessment survey at Lake Victoria and the main activities were species identification, data collection, analysis, and report writing.
