Owner of Fashionizer and Fashionizer Spa Uniforms, luxury uniform designers. Following a successful 14-year career as a costume designer, I decided to translate my creative ideas, design skills and business expertise into uniform design. As a result, Fashionizer was born. Fashionizer is a high-quality design company specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke uniforms. We operate at the top end of the market and I’ve spent more than 20 years building our reputation within the hospitality and luxury beauty sectors for delivering exceptional uniform designs and beautifully made garments to UK and international clients. In 2008, it became apparent that more and more of our clients needed therapists’ uniforms for their spas. As a response I developed a specialist fabric – Cotton Performance Fabric (CPF) – containing organic cotton, which we used to create our spa uniforms. It was such a success that we’re now selling our spa garments in the US and all over the world. As Managing Director, I have a very hands-on approach to my business. And I am involved in all aspects of the business, from strategic marketing, to design concepts which include details such as debating which colour of trim is best. I’m closely involved with every department, supervising and guiding all our experienced department heads through the uniform design process to production and delivery. Fashionizer has come a long way since I started the company way back in 1993. I now employ more than 17 staff across three countries: UK, US and France and I am proud that together with Fashionizer Spa, we are now in the process of expanding our business worldwide.
Fashionizer specialises in the design and supply of uniforms for international, high end, corporate clients. Our uniforms are bespoke; each garment of each uniform programme is designed specifically to suit our customers’ requirements, as well as the environment in which the uniform will be worn We offer the full range of services, from uniform design through to manufacturing and delivery. Our success lies in our ability to work in partnership with the client. Thames Television (1968-92) was a programme-maker and broadcasting licensee of the British ITV television network, covering Greater London. Primetime TV shows I worked on included This Is Your Life, Never the Twain, Shelley, Hope It Rains and No Job for a Lady.
The Cannon Group Inc. (1967-93) included the successful Cannon Films production company, also known as Golan Globus. As a costume designer, I created the costumes and supervised production for the following films: Rumplestiltskin; The Sleeping Beauty; The Frog Prince and America 3000. My managerial responsibilities included setting up and coordinating the costume department during the production of 8 Fairy Tales in feature format, creating a workshop, hiring of staff costumes and facilities and the commissioning of freelance work. My role also included managing a 24-strong department of makers, dressers and assistants. Not dissimilar to what we do at Fashionizer today.
