Health and Safety (HS) assistance and consulting, HS system development and DNV IssSRS HS specific training and auditing for (14) TOTAL Africa Middle-East (AME) countries. Consulting and specialist HS advice for AME projects. Senior AME HS Auditor and responsible for AME HS Auditor Development and Certification.
Strategically employed by Total SA as a change agent to engender a positive safety culture and establish a Corporate HSEQ function, in the absence of any existing Departmental or Divisional HSEQ structures. The objectives of development and implementation of a sustainable TSA HSEQ Management system, appropriate management and advancement of the TSA Corporate HSEQ Division, and provision of a reliable and credible HSEQ internal support function to TSA were met and are now well entrenched and managed through succession.

Routine auditing of National NOSA System companies. Appointed specialist auditor of 'Best in Class' NOSA System companies competing for National recognition of exemplary health and safety performance, presented annually at the National NOSHCON Awards. Awarded NOSA 'Safety Consultant of the Year' award 1996 and 1997.
Consulting and advising on legal compliance and best practice system management issues on Health and Safety to NOSA Regional portfolio companies. Providing NOSA registered training to portfolio companies - from 'grass roots' to 'top management' level. (Basic Health and Safety Awareness to Corporate Health and Safety Awareness and Legal Compliance) Auditing compliance to Regional companies utilising the NOSA MBO (Management By Objective) 5 Star Health and Safety Management System.
Government 'study/work' bursary granted post high school graduation, (1985) requiring working during Varsity holidays (1986 - 1989) and permanently, post graduation and during National Military Service (1989 - 1991) as an Inspector of Industrial Safety. Planned and ad-hoc visits to organisations/companies in various industry categories, to assess levels of compliance to Health and Safety legislation. Application, administration, and case by case management of statutory non-compliance by Employers, as per legal framework, including prohibition of and recommendations regarding prosectuction for such non-compliant activities. Conducting and leading official investigations into reportable events. (Serious injuries, fatalities, repeat non-compliances and major disasters) Providing evidence and case detail for State legal action and expert testimony during court proceedings.
