- Part of shift management team, responsible for day to day plant operation of 3 x 535MW coal-fired generating units, and a shift team of up to twenty individuals. - Implementation of Safety Rules and procedures to provide personnel safety from the system, including authorisation in the 275kV & 132kV substations, switching to National Grid Rules. - Optimal thermal performance through plant testing and fault diagnosis. - Requirements of Grid code are met. - Provide cover for the Shift Manager as required. - Effective liaison with the Station Management Team, Maintenance, Engineering and Materials Handling departments and external bodies. - The provision of operational advice to shift team members, as well as assisting with their personal development. - Effective planning and co-ordination of Major Plant Outages to ensure that they run to schedule in conjunction with Maintenance.
