About

Welcome to my LinkedIn. I specialize in economic research with direct societal impact. My expertise lies in combining applied economic theory with advanced econometrics on large datasets in the areas of competition policy, innovation, and sustainability. Some of the key questions my research tackles: How do firms gain a competitive edge? How to encourage private companies to invest in R&D and innovation? What are the most efficient strategies for achieving international climate targets? Should we use public money to support startups and scale-ups? How to strengthen the innovative capabilities and competitiveness of organisations, sectors/ecosystems, and the Dutch economy as a whole? At SEO Amsterdam Economics, I lead research teams that help clients across the public and private sectors make better decisions through data-driven analysis. I hold a PhD from VU Amsterdam and regularly contribute to scientific debates through peer-reviewed publications, seminars and by writing newspaper/blog articles.
