With the capacity of Senior Specialist, Social and Behavior Change Communications (SBCC), I have proven experience in diagnosing the communication needs of end-users, and intermediaries, as well as organizational strategic communication, needs applying evidence; designing strategic communication messages for intended users, reach, frequency of reach and media; gender and youth integration; facilitate developing communication creatives involving media house/ design studio; overseeing effective implementations involving conventional and new media, and monitoring and supporting evaluations of social and behavior change communications (SBCC) interventions intended individuals and communities, and enable them to make the best choices that suit them towards leading a healthy life. Led the knowledge management function in EngenderHealth. I am proficient in applying behavioral economics, social marketing approaches with a high degree of analytical abilities and creative problem-solving skills.

    Leading offline marketing activites of Market Access 360: Expanding the Market for Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive in India, a project implemented by Chemonics International. Contributing to the market development approaches, led the development of project descriptor, detailers for distributors, providers, and chemsists for hormonal Intrauterine System and Subdermal Implants. Developed user-facing leaflet, poster, and tent card aiming to provide information about hormonal Intrauterine System and Subdermal Implants. Produced a high quality learning video for the chemist on contraceptives that has been highly appreciated by the donor. Developed project purpose and leading the activities to develop a brand around ‘Distributors/ Providers/ Influencers/ Chemists Who Care!’ Community of Practice to advance women’s health focusing on long-acting reversible contraceptives. Significantly contributing to the digital campaign and askNivi chatbot that facilitates contraceptive decision making among potential users.

Collected content, drafted stories for social media, and coordinate with Headquarter Communication Team to post these. oversaw human-centered design (HCD) workshop to develop provider-focused solutions around Caesarean Delivery (CD); landscaping study of available SBCC communication collaterals with special focus on understanding gender perspectives, led by Centre for Communication & Change in India (CCC-I). Led MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics Project launch in Bengaluru and the Minister of Health & Medical Education was a Chief Guest. Developed project briefs for MOMENTUM Safe Surgery and its Gender-Integrated Response to Emerging COVID-19 Priorities. Led localized social media campaign to increase awareness of Sakhi One-Stop Centers (OSC) in the Project Geographies. Partnered with Community Radio Stations in six districts of six Project States to increase OSC awareness. Led the best concept note (remarked by the donor) for the uptake of contraception among youths for the Child Investment Fund (CIFF).

    Led client-facing social and behavior change (SBC) interventions to improve weight gain with positive nutrition behavior in five tribal districts of Rajasthan with a goal to reduce incidences of low birth weight and stunting among children. Developed a training curriculum Power of Doing Measurable Interpersonal Communication for communication champions. Conceptualized a digital media campaign with a goal to improve male involvement in positive nutrition behavior for maternal and child nutrition practices. Led development of capacity building guidelines for auxiliary nursing midwives (ANMs) and community health workers (Anganwadi Workers) for the Rajasthan Government.

    KARMA Project – Led social and behavior change (SBC) interventions with specific focus on gender, youth and social inclusion (GYSI) for improving post-pregnancy family planning in project geographies. Developed three pronged strategies that included Train-Assist-Graduate (TAG) approach aimed at enhancing quality communication skills of frontline health workers (ASHAs); Broadening Accountability of Men (BAM) in family planning involving integrated communication campaign and Visibility & Saliency (VaS) involving social media (WhatsApp) among health facility staffs of supported health facilities. Involved a creative-cum-media agency, led designing, development and execution of a campaign, Pati-Patni Aur Pyar – Family Planning se Apaar (Husband-Wife and Love – Maximize with using contraceptive!); campaign design included eight different media. We exposed to over 2.2 million audiences during this one month long campaign. Under TAG approach, 80% of the frontline health workers graduated. Drafted and supported submission of an abstract for Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG) 2020 plenary session. Drafted the presentation for 2020 IGWG Plenary: The Gendered Impact of COVID-19 on Caregivers and Community Health Workers (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mPQDpyi3L3r_9TN3_dZmECSUwesSi4ey/view). Adolescent Health Development Program (AHDP) Project – Led end-of-the project video documentation including development of an electronic knowledge product on adolescent health. Supported the adolescent girl champion (AGC) social media campaign. Performed gender audit of the communication collaterals provided feedback. Provided technical support to the Tarunya project in Bihar and end-line study (Oct 2020) revealed significant increase in knowledge and awareness levels among adolescents in PE blocks; awareness of HIV/AIDS increased from 47.5% at baseline to 65.3% at end-line survey in PE blocks.
