Key Responsibilities / Achievements: • Designed, and managed the delivery of, a new whole-school “Personal Development” curriculum for 11-16 year old children, ensuring compliance with Department for Education requirements for a range of safeguarding and life-skills topics, managing external training and subject budgets – recently graded “Good” as part of an OFSTED inspection • Provided whole-school training (c. 60 members of teaching staff and Heads of Department), both in-person and Online, based on my own approach to a range of teaching and examination strategies, for example on the design of internal assessments for Teacher Assessed grades for GCSE and A-Level in 2019 to ensure compliance with OFQUAL regulations • Completed additional Mentoring training and provided 1-2-1 coaching to staff in other areas of the school, and assisting in disciplinary processes where required • Completed extensive extra Senior Leadership duties as part of the Pastoral leadership of the school, and represented the school leadership on a number of community and Local Authority engagement projects • Acted as a Staff Governor, completed specific OFSTED – preparation training with a Senior OFSTED Inspector focussing on the increased role of safeguarding, personal development and recruiting, and represented the interests of the staff body to the Executive Leadership of the Executive Trust including finance and facilities management
Key Responsibilities / Achievements: • Oversaw the design, creation, and delivery of hundreds of hours of E-Learning lessons, resources and assessments during Covid-19 lockdowns • Created a new Humanities Faculty, absorbing 6 separate departments and designing new frameworks for collaborative working, planning, faculty training meetings and staff appraisal • Managed a team of nine members of staff including performance management and career development; all of these staff subsequently secured middle leader positions • Gained extensive VLE experience using Satchel One, Edulink, Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom, and LMS experience using iHasco and Edmodo • Gained extensive staff appraisal experience using Bluesky software, using data to design and conduct Development Plans for three team members to improve performance and learner outcomes • Provided training, assessment and feedback, including via mock interviews, to all Humanities staff as part of OFSTED preparations • Designed and conducted a programme of lesson observations for Humanities, including for online learning during the two lockdowns, incorporating a “buddy system” to train less experienced members of staff. • Managed separate budgets for each department within the faculty, totalling c. £10000 of spending, saving £3000 of waste and investing in long-term resource solutions • Completely redesigned all Humanities Curriculums and Schemes of Work, lesson resources, Presentations and summative and formative assessment processes, leading to 20% improvements in GCSE and A-Level pass rates • Designed data-tracking documents to accurately track student performance throughout the Teacher Assessed Grades process for examinations in 2021 in all Humanities subjects • Conducted extensive data analysis as a basis for driving improvements in staff and pupil performance using SIMS, SISRA, ALPS and EXCEL software packages
Key Responsibilities / Achievements: • Worked alongside PiXL (1-year) and The Prince’s Teaching Institute (3-year Associated Schools Project) to design specific interventions to underperforming groups, such as Pupil Premium children • Raised GCSE pass rates in Geography up to 93% A*-C, compared to a National average of 64%, by designing and introducing new Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculums • Designed and Implemented a new Formative Assessment system • Assisted in the day-to-day management of the Humanities Faculty (13 members of staff) and quality assuring teaching and learning, leading to a 33% increase in teaching quality • Oversaw improvements of at least 10% in GCSE pass rates in all Humanities departments • Organised and participated in Parent-engagement events to enhance the reputation of the school • Led Geography Department and Humanities Faculty meetings
