As a problem solver in all aspects of life, I take pride and pleasure in finding solutions to problems in software, hardware, operating systems, databases and networking. Since 2011, I've been working with Thales on developing the software simulation framework, integrating good software practices including nightly automated builds, pipelining and automated testing. My project is directly responsible for saving the company millions of dollars in physical real-estate space, electricity and manual labor every year. During this time, I improved my leadership and management skills. As product owner for our scrum team. I interfaced with customer teams, solution engineering managers, program managers, architecture and development teams during various software development stages to deliver products meeting the end users’ requirements. I occasionally took on the responsibility of managing our team. I also volunteered to bring new hires up to speed as part of a buddy system and became the local 5S champion in our engineering department to drive continuous improvement within the company. In the past 5 years I volunteered to learn new technical skills in different areas to become a swiss army knife for the company. This approach led me to work with stakeholders and implement new features for our Core Software Framework and our Connectivity Framework as well as support change requests. I also contributed to the resolution of software defects in different software components to help the team meet our delivery commitments. My professional desire is to help a team efficiently towards our objectives and be a part of something bigger than myself. Along the way I would like to share what I've learned with my teammates and colleagues as well as learn how to become better and more efficient at what I do. I believe the process of learning never stops and by sharing knowledge we can equip ourselves with the tools needed to solve any problems that come our way, together. I am actively looking for a new full time, remote position in the USA and/or Japan. If you think I'd be a good fit for an opportunity or you're looking to connect with a fun and positive thinker, feel free to reach out for a chat.
I supported the Inflight Entertainment Core Software framework development and Connectivity framework development. Implemented Core Services of power on, software download, content load for new device types. Implemented monitoring during flights for wireless connectivity specific problematic scenarios and recovery methods. Fixed longstanding bugs within connectivity framework including incorrect offloaded data and config check reporting. Added utilities to KA satellite link classes to detect and control the connection and log monitoring. Increased unit test coverage across all connectivity components including bite monitoring, connection controller, hardware and software monitors, wap manager, ka satellite link. I also contributed to the resolution of software defects in other software components. Lead team C++ development of simulation framework and modeling of real world applications such as Video On Demand streaming deployed at a large scale assuming product owner and developer roles in an agile Scrum environment. This project continues to save the company millions of dollars. Lead final system acceptance tests and product certifications with customer airlines and OEM manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus. Improved software framework for easier modeling. Peer reviewed code from teammates. Automated development operations such as builds and regression testing to increase code quality. Used framework to prototype software algorithms, strategies and characterize performance of servers. Contributed towards company innovation growth by swift prototyping and pitching new ideas in cross-functional teams each year. Trained software teams on benefits of modeling software. Successfully recruited engineers at university career fairs. Mentored and trained new hires and interns to help ease onboarding process. Built strong team camaraderie and individual rapport. Incrementally developed teammates careers through strategic work assignments and individual tailored guidance.
