A social entrepreneur, impact investor, storyteller and community builder David is the Director of Impact for NEXUS, a global thought community that brings together leading next-gen philanthropists, impact investors and social innovators from the world’s most influential families to catalyze new leadership and accelerate solutions to our world’s most critical problems. At NEXUS David has overseen the launch of the NEXUS Impact Society membership program, NEXUS task forces, The NEXUS Forums Program, The NEXUS Deal Flow Network, The NEXUS Impact Accelerator and The SUPR Initiative to eliminate single-use plastic in major sports stadiums across the country. In addition to NEXUS, David is an angel investor having invested in over a dozen social good startups. Prior to NEXUS, David was the founder of Modavanti, the world’s largest online sustainable fashion retailer. Modavanti was named best in Ethical Fashion by Instyle Magazine, and Honoree for Best for NYC by B Corp and the City. Additionally David serves as a board member of Georgetown University’s Entrepreneurship Alliance working to expand Georgetown’s entrepreneurial community. Previously David served as a conflict journalist in the Middle East where he reported on the Arab Spring. He has spoken at the White House, The UN, The Web Summit in Dublin and SXSW. David holds his degree from Georgetown University with a major in Arabic Studies and a double minor in Economics and Government.
NEXUS catalyzes new leadership and accelerates solutions to global problems. Our mission is to connect, inspire, and activate exceptional social innovators and the next generation of influential families around the world. As Director of Impact Initiatives, I've worked with members to mobilize our unique resources, influence and access to ignite and accelerate change. A few of the initiatives are below: - SUPR: A partnership between Accenture, Oceanic Global and NEXUS to eliminate single use plastics in professional sports stadiums starting with the Super Bowl LIV in Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. - Bahamas Relief Project: NEXUS teamed up with the Grand Bahama Port Authority to support the Grand Bahama island recovery effort after Hurricane Dorian. NEXUS members helped to mobilize over 1.5M pounds of aid in the first two weeks after the storm. - Campaign to fight disinformation with the UN: NEXUS partnered with The UN and Purpose to mobilize our members to help spread trusted real information to fight against COVID misinformation. - NEXUS Forums Program: Forums are intimate groups of 8-10 members who come together to serve as each other's personal board of directors to support each other in business, community and efforts to deepen their collective impact.

H/L also proudly investments in diverse founders with 50%+ of their portfolio led by both female and POC founders I serve as a venture partner for H/L Ventures working with the team to recommend deal flow, provide diligence on potential startups as well as to support their current portfolio companies. We are also investors in the City Rock, the H/L Venture Fund.
