Property development and maintenance
Supported the coming into being of the Sustainable Renewable Energy Authority (SREDA). Initiated various pilot schemes to provide demonstration models for SREDA to use for policy development or wider dissemination.
Implemented a large Rural Electrification programme in Bhadakshan and Takhar provinces based mainly on hydro electric schemes of up to 500kW, including extensive reticulation in mountainous villages. At Measo level, introduced and built local capacity in provincial energy planning and billing systems. At Macro level, provided support for National Energy policy development for the Ministry of Energy as well as support for the National Standards Authority for developing new electro technical standards. The programme creates a SADC wide system of sustainable services that deliver improved energy services to poor people. This inevitably leades us to concentrate on wood fuel as the most important energy carrier.
Solar Cooker Field Test, SOLCO. Development of various models and their performance tensing and evaluation for social acceptance. Culminated in an unsuccessfull attempt at commercial market introduction.
