After just over 9 years of presiding over the phenomenal growth at A&M TAG I have decided to end my 30+ years in professional services. My time at A&M TAG has been a blast! Having the opportunity to disrupt the Big 4 model and build a pan EMEA transaction services team focused on borderless 24/7 client service has been an utter privilege. But having recently turned 54 I no longer have the energy and passion for client service I used to have so the time has come hang up my boots! Huge thanks to the clients who were brave enough to take a chance on a challenger brand and who put their trust in A&M TAG. Likewise, huge thanks to those colleagues who were disillusioned with their “safe” Big 4 firms and took a chance in joining the winning TeA&M. I leave the team in very good hands under the leadership of my colleagues and good friends #Philipp Mitchell and # Jonathan Gibbons and I look forward to watching from the outside as the A&M Juggernaut continues to scale. I would like to thank #Paul Aversano, #Bryan Marsal and #John Suckow for believing in me and supporting me over the past 9 years – I hope you are happy with the job I did for you in putting A&M TAG on the map in EMEA in a meaningful way. I’m going to take the next few months to move offshore (sorry Rachel Thieves), recharge my batteries and figure out what to do in the final years of my career – but there is still some life in the old dog so I will be back in some impactful role. After more than 20 years spent in the Big 4, I am excited to join Alvarez & Marsal's European Transaction Advisory Group as a Managing Director and co-European Practice Leader. Although known primarily for their restructuring work, A&M has been providing Transaction Support services to Private Equity and Corporate clients for the last 10 years and now has over 200 transactions professionals globally in based in 15 locations across the US, Europe, China, India and Brazil. The team are all ex Big 4 trained, and building on the firm’s restructuring heritage our approach is to provide focused and results oriented advice with integrated teams of experienced transactions professionals working alongside sector operating specialists (people who have had real jobs / run businesses as CEO’s, COO’s or CFO’s in the relevant sectors). Free from audit independence restrictions we are able to not only assist clients in evaluating acquisition and disposal opportunities but also to then work alongside them pre deal or post deal in implementing the M&A strategy. We also work seamlessly with A&M's global tax practice who provide tax diligence and tax structuring support in all major markets. The focus is on practical and timely tax advice delivered by senior and experienced M&A tax professionals. Although every M&A transaction is slightly different we don’t look to reinvent the wheel every time!
