Description Reporting to the Director of Finance, I am the manager of the wider procurement function coordinating the efforts of the 14 centres within the portfolio, often travelling to meet with internal and external stakeholders. Except for construction works, I handle all the categories, liaising with the internal expertise to define and meet the needs for each tender, assessing the amount of personal involvement necessary considering both the value of the tender but also the consolidation opportunities to leverage the size of the portfolio. Duties • Development of procurement strategy. • Tracking benefits (hard and soft savings) on project or procurement activity. • Rationalisation and consolidation of key contracts to achieve greater efficiency through economies of scale. • Development of Service Levels and Key Performance Indicators to support measurement and management of contracts. • Management of the tender process including drafting of scope requirements, evaluation criteria and contract documentation. Notable projects Lead the effort to modernise the procurement function (sponsored by the CFO). - Procuring an E-Procurement, contract storage and management, supplier database tool. - Creating new guidelines and policies to improve consistencies and manage risk. After entering administration, I secured a new card payment tool to resume BAU activities asap, switching to a prepaid card from a different supplier in just 2 weeks’ time.
Description I reported to the FM and Logistic category manager within the waste management Business Unit. Duties • Created and managed tenders worth up to 7.5 M of Euros and carried them through to completion, from RFP, through negotiation to contract drafting. • I lead a team on a cross-functional project sponsored by the CFO to implement "gamification" in supply chain processes. From concept, through to the pilot phase and finally in implementation. • Liaised with consultancies firms for Design-to-Cost projects. • Ensured vendor’s compliance to internal policies and environmental laws. Notable projects - Factory cleaning services (7.7 M euros) Paired suppliers reducing skilled workers presence only to jobs that required them. Increasing quality (suppliers were asked to reinvest in new and better performing machinery lowering the cost). - Logistic for north of Italy (4M euros) Adopted a “design to cost” approach reorganising the entire network assigning consecutive legs to the same suppliers reducing their costs and causing a reduction on some routes of up to 40% on their previous pricing - Metal residuals from incineration sales (3M euros) Created “mixed baskets” with material of different quality, rewarding suppliers who gave us good pricing on the cheap material with more good material, and so almost doubling the value extracted without actually paying money in any transaction.
