I have dedicated much of my life to the world of opera and concerts as a bass-baritone and conductor. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing on many of the most prestigious stages worldwide, as well as leading orchestras in a variety of challenging and dynamic environments. My journey has shaped me into a well-rounded professional, with strong leadership and organizational skills, which I believe are transferable across different industries. Personal Information I am Italian by nationality, currently residing in Hamburg, Germany. These language skills have allowed me to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of professionals across the globe. Summary of My Experience Throughout my career, I have accumulated a wealth of experience, not only as a performer but also as a leader and organizer in the complex world of opera and concert production. My long-standing involvement in international projects has helped me develop a deep understanding of intercultural communication and project management, skills that I have honed over decades of working in highly demanding environments. In my roles, I have consistently demonstrated strong leadership abilities, effective teamwork, and the capacity to adapt to and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings. I have always been drawn to positions that require both creativity and precision, and I enjoy the challenge of bringing large-scale artistic visions to life.
On 22.nd November 2025 Davide Damiani takes on the main role in L’uomo dal fiore in bocca. This opera by Luc Brewaeys—one of Belgium’s most important composers of recent decades, who passed away ten years ago—is paired with Francis Poulenc’s La Voix humaine in a double bill. In Brewaeys’ work, The Man with the Flower suffers from a terminal mouth cancer. Aware of his approaching death, he speaks with the Customer, a man who has simply missed his train and is caught up in trivial concerns. The contrast between the two highlights the tension between the profound and the banal. Poulenc’s tragédie lyrique presents a woman desperately phoning her former lover. The line falters, and their connection—like their relationship—is reduced to static and silence. Both characters—the dying man and the abandoned woman—stand on the edge of despair. With no true listener, each spirals into an existential monologue. Through Brewaeys’ refined musical language and Poulenc’s impeccable dramatic instinct, these fragile voices come vividly to life.
After more than thirty years on stage, I feel a deep responsibility — and joy — in sharing what I’ve learned with the next generation. As Artistic Director of the Opera Studio, I guide young singers on their journey from the first encounter with the score to the discovery of their own stage presence. My goal is to help them grow into complete, conscious, and expressive artists — ready to bring music, emotion, and truth to the stage.
