About

I am a product designer with over 15 years of experience building and enhancing digital products that help people navigate complex decisions in healthcare and business. For four years at Healthgrades, I led search and discovery experiences for 1.5 million monthly users. I learned to connect with my audiences and learn about their problems through UX research before exploring solutions. In this role, I led new design projects and complex redesigns for the Healthgrades product and was instrumental in supporting the UX design strategy that helped millions find quality healthcare online. I also formed an interest in directing my own research studies, leading nearly 50 UX studies. I also mentored several junior designers working on multiple products within the business' portfolio. For nearly 8 years at AmeriCorps, the federal government agency for national and public service, I served as a lead UX designer advocating for active and prospective AmeriCorps members. I led a small team of junior designers, marketing professionals, and developers to redesign the agency's entire public website, helping to simplify the member onboarding experience resulting in a significant increase in successful applicant submissions. I collaborated with stakeholders in many different branches of the agency and presented to the agency's leadership on our learnings, strategy, and progress through data and user feedback. Later on, I supported the AmeriCorps NCCC program to ramp up their digital recruitment tools. I redesigned the program's onboarding flow which resulted in a 10x increase in traffic y/y. This experience taught me the importance of understanding user needs and how effective design can drive engagement. Within the last year, I have gained curiosity for how AI tools can improve my workflow, supporting my ability to solve complex user and business problems, and how to better support other areas of the SDLC from project management to dev handoff. In the last six months I have infused Figma Make into my early design discovery process and I'm currently experimenting with AWS Kiro and Claude to help me better align with stakeholders and product requirements. I've also built AI into my UX research workflow where it helps me synthesize UX research learnings, which I then help me communicate problems to product leadership to help better inform strategies for solving complex problems.
