In addition to this he had to share his time there as the consultant for various F&B and retail fit-out projects at The Venetian development nearby. On completion of his twelve month contract with CSA Ltd he was asked to join the In-Projects team who he had been working alongside at Venetian. In this position David was a Senior Project Manager and was in charge of a small team of twelve people; a mix of junior engineers, quantity surveyors, CAD techs and admin. After the Venetian Cotai project suspension David joined Fusion Projects Ltd, a HK and Macau based company where he was Project Director of all MEP works, including design, and was the senior in the Macau office. This company focussed mainly on government submissions and high end retail both in HK and Macau. Sadly FPL closed there Macau office base and although he was offered a HK position with the company David declined. Currently David is the Building Services Manager with the A&A team at the Venetian Sands Macau project. Previous to this he was a Testing and Commissioning engineer for Tazmek International. An Australian based company, Tazmek are the Testing and Commissioning Engineers for Venetian P1&2, Marina Bay Sands and are presently at Sands Cotai (P5&6); they also develop and publish the O&M manuals and preventive maintenance procedures. His own duties include the inspection, testing, calibration and sign off of the major MEP systems including, but not limited to, the chiller plants, boilers, heat pumps, generators, BMS/CCMS, swimming pools etc. for handover to the Facilities Management teams. David has been in HK/Asia since 1994. Prior to this he served in the Royal Navy and spent eighteen years in the submarine service and retired as a Chief Petty Officer Engineering Artificer.
