About

David is a resident in the Internal Medicine Program at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center. He completed his MD and PhD at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. His research explored the application of multi-omics approaches towards understanding the impact of noncoding genetic variation on RNA processing, protein expression, and human disease. As part of this work, he tested new methods of targeting specific noncoding regulatory elements in messenger RNAs to modulate protein expression with potential therapeutic applications. For this he was awarded a 2020 Blavatnik Family Foundation Fellowship. David graduated magna cum laude from Haverford College, where he served as the President of the Angry Young Newts Rugby Club and received the George Pierce Prize for his thesis research on protein aggregation kinetics. He has previously worked as a research assistant in the laboratory of Celeste Simon at the University of Pennsylvania, where he contributed to several projects in cancer metabolism, tumor immunology, and tissue development. David has additionally served as a Technology Transfer Fellow at the Penn Center for Innovation and advised early-stage biotechnology companies on scientific strategy and data analysis. He has presented oral platform talks at several national and international conferences, including at the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology and the American Society for Human Genetics meetings. He has authored or contributed to several high-impact publications in appearing in journals such as Nature, Nature Communications, Cell, and Blood.
