20+ years of engineering and technical leadership – combined with hands on project management and production experience – have led to: ► Capital and plant gate FEED studies for LNG processes and equipment, supporting $1B+ of turnkey LNG liquefaction and engineered solution opportunities. ► Design leadership on a $243M CNG facility using innovative technologies, lowering operating costs, delivering lowest CAPEX and OPEX among bidders, and generating significant energy savings. ► Partnerships with stakeholders, regulators, and teams in completions, drilling, production, and marketing on the design of pipelines, facilities, and water infrastructure. ► Recognition for the development of the Debolt Aquifer Storage Reservoir and associated water treatment process, achieving industry benchmark for environmentally sustainable water sourcing, storage, disposal, and recycling. Offering expertise in process, production, project, pipeline, and operations engineering, along with business skills focused on analytics, problem solving, and technical initiatives, my background and talents include: Unconventional Resource Development ► SAGD Operations ► LNG & CNG Operations & Processes ► Project Management ► Technology Development ► Hands-On Leadership ► Process Improvement ► Environmental Sustainability ► Acquisitions & Divestitures ► Facilities & Infrastructure ► Production Strategies I have dedicated my career to discovering and implementing methodologies for sustainable unconventional resource development, multi-well pad completions, and operatonal improvements. Most recently, I have conducted feasibility and economic studies for gas to power projects, hydrogen, alternative fuels, and pipeline projects. Production, Pipelines, and Facilities Engineering for Cardium Hz Oil Pad Operations
Engineering feed studies for gas to power projects, LNG, CNG, pipelines, economic modelling, hydrogen.
Part of GE General Electic Global Growth and Operations Customer Innovation Centre in Calgary, my division specialized in serving LNG clients with GE rotating equipment, and turnkey equipment solutions. Applying data analytics and machine learning to industry challenges, my team improved operational efficiencies and delivered solutions to meet our clients’ needs. While supporting oil and gas compression, LNG, CNG, and power projects, a few of my achievements have included: ► Performed FEED studies for $1B in turnkey LNG liquefaction processes and rotating equipment (pre-cooled mixed refrigerant, single cycle mixed refrigerant, closed loop nitrogen expansion, and open loop methane expansion). ► Acted as design lead on $243M project for City of Calgary’s transit system, providing bidding team with efficient and low OPEX/CAPEX solution (Waukesha, Jenbacher CHP, HSR compression, electrical, and M&C) to fill 400 transit buses daily. ► Supported bidding on multiple 200 MW power projects, providing economic modeling, lifecycle NPV analysis, and technical support on Jenbacher J920 Flextra LNG Gas to Power Initiative. ► Prepared data analytics for business development opportunities in digital, renewables, grid, transportation, lighting, and healthcare projects. ► Redesigned Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) for long-term 275 degree Celsius service in SAGD operations, collaborating with engineers to improve factory processes and test a high-temperature motor and pump prototype. ► Awarded GE Canada’s Above and Beyond Award in 2016, earning recognition for developing codes and standards for industry designate CSA Z276.
Working on PennWest’s 500 MMSCF/d Cordova Mitsubishi joint venture unconventional shale gas project, I piloted, permitted, and designed full cycle water source, storage, and disposal systems for multi-well pad drilling and completions operations. Partnering with regulatory bodies and area stakeholders, we successfully applied for and managed 1M+ cubic meters of water use permits and pumping campaigns. Designing a pressurized on-demand water supply and UV light treatment system, supply costs were decreased by 60%. In this role I also debottlenecked a 140 MMSCF/d plant for shale gas operations, planning infrastructure requirements and advising on costs. Highlights of this role include: ► Eliminated on-lease frac water tanks, water storage bins, and surge tanks, designing on-demand supply and frac manifold systems. ► Built one of the largest aboveground frac water storage impoundments and high-rate water treatment systems, serving as a water hub for several multi-well pads. ► Designed 21,000 BHP gas turbine generator and electric drive “clean-side” pressure pumping platform, reducing shale gas completion costs by 30%. ► Updated foreign JV partner and management teams, mentored EITs and junior personnel, and led safe opeations.
A Senior Production Engineer within Alberta Foothills, NW AB, NE BC, Horn River, and Liard Shale Gas Basins, I investigated and applied new technologies to more than $1B in upstream LNG feedstock developments. This work included multi-frac well design, application, and production engineering on the New Venture Exploration Team, as well as water management, sand handling, completions, operations, and resource assessments. Most significant to this role was the development of the Debolt Aquifer Storage Reservoir and water treatment processes, and additional highlights include: ► Defended multi-million dollar SR&ED tax claims with CRA, securing 100% success on claims for drilling, completions, and evaluations of pilot wells. ► Managed multi-rig projects in NEBC and Alberta, leaving no stranded wells and employing novel non-disturbance pipeline installation techniques. ► Delivered new foothills area gas plant, gathering and sales pipeline in record time. ► Communicated with environmental companies, hydrologists, field staff, consultants, stakeholders, and executives, ensuring timely and cost-effective water management systems. ► Eliminated $8M in capital (compared to HSP pumping system), implementing high horsepower medium voltage drive multi-stage ESP frac water pumping system. ► Spearheaded new water supply technologies, including 30 MMBTU remote frac water heating, 10” lay flat hose, HDPE, surge water tanks, large diameter portable storage bins, electric submersible pumps, control valves, automated tank levels, and surge tanks.
