Golf Course and Turfgrass Manager. Experience with many different varieties of turf grass in different regions.
• Assist Fazio-Davis construction team and Kyle Phillips design team with building and grown in of 18 holes of championship golf with 75 acres of Tifgrand shortcut, Bahia rough, and Tifeagle greens. Had a successful grown-in with complete coverage and was able to open the course on time and impress membership. • Hired and trained a 26-person crew and worked in coordination with a 15 person grassing crew and 20 person construction crew • Programmed and scheduled the irrigation to grow in spriggs and sod of all playing surfaces
• Assisted the Blue Monster course in hosting two successful LIV Golf Tour events including the Team Championship of 2023. • Implemented new herbicide mixes to clean up bad weed infestations and improved overall turf health on tee boxes, fairways, and greens. • Created an environment which inspires growth and positivity that attracted and retained 8 new crew members. • Flipped the courses reputation from one that the members did not wish to play into the course that the members request to play. • Improved aesthetics of non-playing areas, landscapes, and ornamental grass beds. • Responsible for security, cleanliness, and functionality of a standalone shop. • Conquered the challenges my first season on property brought on by the extreme El Nino weather pattern of 2023/2024 winter.
• Continued the success and standards set by a previous Superintendent of 20 years. • Improved the quality of all shortgrass and density of greens. • Maintained an old block-style irrigation system which produced an average of one mainline leak a week. • Successfully created a 12-month agronomic plan and budget that fits the club’s allowance of 200K for fertilizer and chemicals for 18 holes and 60 acres of maintained turf and clubhouse grounds. • Purchased all pesticides and course accessories. • Coordinated and scheduled contract work performed by tree companies, irrigation pump maintenance, and Miami Shores Village Municipality.
