Independently researched landscape of current industry and actors involved to determine how Defenders should engage moving forward to ensure that geothermal development is done in a way that does not negatively impact wildlife. Served as organizational representative on the Lacey Coalition, a group seeking to successfully implement illegal logging provisions added to the Lacey Act in 2008. Analyzed Federal Register notices related to these new provisions and drafted comments for the organization to submit, lobbied Congress on implementation of the new provisions, created outreach materials ranging from blog posts to fact sheets. Managed fifteen financial accounts and grants, tracked expenditures, and created annual financial reports. Developed annual budgets for several programs based on previous year spending. Created outreach materials (factsheet and position documents) related to: renewable energy; reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation; the Farm Bill; and invasive species. Led research effort for Defenders’ “Broken Screens: The Regulation of Live Animal Imports in the United States” report. Provided administrative assistance to Senior Vice President and nine staff, including; calendar and scheduling, travel planning, developing power point presentations, and managing the document review process. Coordinated and helped launch a new renewable energy campaign. Assisted in developing portion of presentations for funders; planned and organized coalition events; provided research and other assistance as needed. Served as co-chair of Defenders' Green Committee, examining ways to make the organization more environmentally friendly and responsible.
