About

Public Health & Environmental Data Analyst | M.S. Environmental Biology 📍 Based in New Hampshire (Serving Concord, Manchester, Nashua, and nearby Mass) 📧 Reach me directly: [email protected] or message me on LinkedIn. My Story I'm a data analyst with an M.S. in Environmental Biology focused on public health and environmental data — work where findings inform real decisions about communities and resources. TECHNICAL TOOLKIT Visualization: Certified Tableau Desktop Specialist, Power BI, Excel Dashboards Database/SQL: MySQL, SQL Server (ETL, data cleaning, relational architecture) Analysis: Python (Pandas, Matplotlib) Domain Expertise: Environmental Health Metrics, Population Surveillance, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) KEY PROJECTS & IMPACT Customer Churn Analysis: Identified $1.5M in annual revenue at risk across 1,869 churning customers. Month-to-month contracts churn at 4x the rate of two-year contracts; newest customers churn at nearly 47%. Built and published a 5-view Tableau dashboard segmenting churn by contract type, tenure, and service type. Green Space & Public Health: Analyzed County Health Rankings data across 59 counties in five New England states to examine the relationship between park access and health outcomes. Income-stratified analysis revealed that park access correlates with health outcomes differently by income level — with direct implications for resource allocation. Public Health Analytics: Modeled U.S. obesity correlations (2011–2024) across 50+ states to identify high-risk regional trends. Harvard Forest LTER Ecological Monitoring — 4-dashboard Tableau Story analyzing 60+ years of climate, phenology, and forest composition data; identified a statistically significant warming trend of +0.030°C/year. Hubbard Brook Precipitation Analysis: Analyzed long-term precipitation trends at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest using Power BI, visualizing ecological patterns across multiple decades of LTER data. Foundation: Completed the Data Analytics Accelerator, a 10-module intensive bootcamp under Avery Smith covering Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, and R. Full portfolio published at davidhmills.carrd.co. THE DTM ADVANTAGE As a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) — the highest credential from Toastmasters International — I make complex data findings accessible and actionable for decision-makers at every level. Professional Working Proficiency in French (DELF B2 certified, June 2026). I passed the four-part exam comfortably with an overall score of 71. A passing score is 50100.
