In 2011, I survived a traumatic brain injury that left me unable to work, communicate, or function independently. Doctors offered little hope for meaningful recovery. I found my medicine in movement. Between 2013 and 2014, I ran 133 consecutive marathons across Canada — approximately 4,800 km — to raise awareness for brain injury survivors and demonstrate the science of exercise-based neurological rehabilitation. That journey earned me the Meritorious Service Medal and the Order of Canada. Today I speak to healthcare, rehabilitation, and corporate wellness audiences about resilience, neuroplasticity, and what’s possible when we refuse to accept limitations. This is the story of David 2.0
