During my career I have assisted both local and overseas companies to resolve issues relating to competition and consumer law, in liaising with the ACCC and other regulators and in resolving disputes outside the traditional court system.. I seek to apply, for the benefit of clients, my experience, background in and knowledge of competition and consumer law from an in house perspective as former in house counsel at IBM , Director of Government Relations, from a regulator perspective as a Commissioner at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and as a practicing lawyer and as a mediator to resolve issues in a manner that enhances relationships This background and knowledge also applies to assisting local and overseas companies that need to interact with government. Based on my background at IBM, then as a Commissioner at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, I now provide advice in competition and consumer law including franchising. I am a member of the ACCC Franchisising Consultative Committee. My work involves assisting companies both large and small to consider the risks they face and how to establish compliance programs to address those risks. I have worked with over 15 companies including Optus, Goodyear, Telstra, Novartis, Lend Lease, Microsoft and IBM. I am also actively engaged as a nationally accredited commercial mediator. I am member of the NSW Law Society Panel of Mediators and on the panel of Office of the Franchising Mediator Advisor.and of LEADR.
