As a race organiser at Ice Cap Adventures Ltd, I combine my passion for international athletics and polar expeditions with my medical background and skills. I founded Ice Cap Adventures and The Great World Race, an innovative and challenging event that take participants to the seven continents and the polar regions. I am responsible for the logistical and organisational aspects of these events, as well as the safety of the runners and the crew. I have been a doctor for over 12 years, working for both the HSE and the NHS in Ireland and the UK. I specialise in surgery and have a M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O. degree from Trinity College Dublin and a BComm degree from National University of Ireland, Galway. I have also been a doctor since 2017 for Polar Running Adventures, a company that organises races to both polar regions. I have travelled to the Arctic and Antarctic regions, providing medical support and emergency response for the racers and the staff. I enjoy working in extreme and diverse environments and collaborating with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
