London, England, United Kingdom
I have worked for London Underground for 30 years. In that time I have helped manage all kinds of operational incidents. predominantly in operations / incident management and also within operational security. I have always been extremely customer focused, and believe that the customer should always be at the heart of everything that we do. Over the years I have been privileged to have been seconded to a number of teams which have included Service Control and Safety, Health and Environment. At the age of 40, I took up running after a 20 year break and went on to run four sub 3 marathons including a lifetime best of 2 hours 46 minutes. I enjoy athletics coaching and I am also qualified as a guide runner. I like to keep a healthy balance between work, family and sports and like to think that all three contribute to physical, mental and psychological wellbeing For the last twenty two years I have been involved within Operational Security, initially in Security Risk Management before becoming CCTV Data Manager. My role as CCTV Data Manager has allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge in data protection legislation, data management, information security, incident investigation which has allowed me to support various investigations relating to crime and security. CCTV is a real growth industry, and I have been privileged to be able to contribute as the SME to a number of projects, to ensure that LUL remains at the cutting edge in the area of CCTV and Data Management. My role is intrinsically linked to safety management and safeguarding and I am responsible for ensuring that CCTV is retained for nearly 6,000 incidents per year.
Responsible for managing and mitigation of security risk pertaining to trespass and physical security of the rail network
I split my time between working on the delicatessen counter and the fish counter. I focused on providing high levels of customer satisfaction, by taking customer orders which I quickly and efficiently processed. I was pleased to be recognised by my department heads and customers for excellent customer service. I have always had a passion for providing excellent customer service and truly believe that going the extra mile to provide a truly memorable retail experience should be the type of service that customers should experience.
I worked for Webb's World of Food as a Marinade Technician where I was responsible for making batches of marinades to produce products for major supermarkets. these included making Tikka sauces, red and green Thai sauces which were used to coat chicken products as part of the manufacturing process. All sauces were made and mixed by hand, which allowed me to draw upon my precious role as a lab technician, using similar skills in supporting the manufacturing teams. Quality Control was of vital importance in ensuring that the major supermarket chains that we supplied were entirely satisfied with our products
I enrolled as a Health Care Assistant as part of an NHS programme called Project 2000. After successfully completing my training I applied for a role within the Renal Unit at St Thomas' Hospital. My role was one of support and administering secondary care to those attending as day patients for dialysis. Duties included taking observations and providing support to patients, recording any fluids taken due to the need to carefully manage fluid intake. The role required me to have a pleasant and friendly disposition and to be able to converse with and reassure patients undergoing dialysis. Other duties included setting the machines up for dialysis and cleaning the machines and filters after use. Sadly despite undertaking what was a highly rewarding role I left to spend time with my family in the Midlands, due to a family illness
I worked in a varied role working in a number of areas / departments from fresh produce, delicatessen, and shop floor duties. I covered a number of shops across Wimbledon and Putney. I was proud to work within a hard working and super friendly team.
