David W. Dietz, MD is Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair of Value and Transformation in the Department of Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Dietz holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Delivery Science from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and Geisel School of Medicine and has a keen interest in improving the value of surgical care. He is a founding member and current Vice Chair of the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons that aims to improve outcomes for U.S. rectal cancer patients. Dr. Dietz is nationally-renowned for reoperative abdominal and pelvic surgery, redo pelvic pouch surgery, locally-advanced and recurrent rectal cancer, and continent ileostomy surgery. His patients travel from across the country to Cleveland, OH for his expertise. He is a frequent national and international speaker on clinical colorectal surgery, quality improvement, and high value surgical care.
