Over time and via acquisition Verifone ended up with a large number of Estate Management Systems used to manage fleets of Card Acceptance devices. These operated either as managed services or as Customer owned and operated. As the global architect I worked on strategies that would allow for consolidation to one favoured solution - VerifoneHQ. Primarily this involved feature development within VerifoneHQ but in many cases involved working with various regions so that they could integrate with and move their Payment Solution to VerifoneHQ. With more than 600,000 devices under management as a Cloud based service and plans to deploy up to 25M replacement devices with VerifoneHQ many activities revolved around performance and scalability. Working with Cloud Services such as AWS and Akamai provided for the scalability needed, which I balanced with the security needed to ensure PCI Compliance could be maintained.
Software development of Payment Solutions for Verifone's Asia region was performed in 6 separate development centres that serviced specific Customer needs. My role was to introduce and establish processes that would allow the development centres to adopt new tools to support improved development quality and automation. Reliance on CI and source code analysis tools allowed a sharp increase in the quality of deliverables.
As part of the team to re-establish the Verifone brand in the Australia and New Zealand region I was responsible for all deliverables of a technical nature. This included pre and post sales support, software development and delivery, and processes for terminal deployment which included secure key injection of devices. Working closely with the Country Manager and Sales team, Verifone was able to regain market and reputation in Australia culminating in successful sales to a Tier-1 Retailer and one of the Big-4 Banks.
Development One developed a number of products, ranging from PC based, niche market media storage devices, through to an EMV based Smart Card reader and PIN pad for securing Internet Credit Card payments.
Project Lab developed a CD/DVD storage product from concept through to manufacture and was developing a variation of this product that would include the ability to read and write discs.
