    As Chief Executive Officer, I am accountable for delivering the strategic goals and charitable objectives of the British Paralympic Association. I am responsible for the successful execution and implementation of the BPA’s current 2022–2032, strategic plan “Championing Change” as well as both leading the process for preparing for the 2024 Paris Paralympic games and ensuring effective strategic planning for the period beyond. A key part of my role is to provide day-to-day leadership for BPA employees, as well as being the external representative at the organisation for key stakeholders, both in the UK and internationally.

      As RNIB’s Chief Operating Officer I am accountable for leading all customer facing activities and responsible for continuously improving customer service quality regardless of channel or touchpoint. This includes increasing the reach of the sight loss pathway and the UK-wide Sight Loss Advice Service to reach all blind and partially sighted people, proactively managing and growing RNIB’s consumer and commercial propositions and to lead on RNIB’s strategic stakeholder relationships. At the heart of the role is the desire to bring about positive change for blind and partially sighted people by ensuring the implementation of the RNIB Strategy and in particular working with businesses to develop innovative solutions that make content, products, services and environments useable and accessible for blind and partially sighted people. People with sight loss should be able to participate in society fully and equally and it is my absolute mission to make this a reality via this role.

    It is a true honour and privilege to have been appointed to the role of Vice Chair for this magnificent organisation and I am sincerely looking forward to working with all stakeholders over the next three years to ensure we take our best prepared teams to the winter Paralympics in Beijing in 2022 and the summer Paralympics in Paris in 2024. It is also important for our movement to focus on social impact and changing society’s attitudes towards disability.
