I am a Biomedical Engineer with a strong foundation in the design and development of medical devices and equipment. I have a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as the engineering principles required to create innovative solutions for healthcare challenges. My passion for improving the lives of others through technology has driven my academic and extracurricular pursuits. During my time at the university of Groningen, I gained hands-on experience through design projects and my internship. People have described me as enthusiastic team-player with excellent communication and great perseverance. I am excited to bring my energy and knowledge to practise and commit to my first challenge of my professional career.
As a Clinical Specialist, I provide essential support to electrophysiologists during various procedures, including pulmonary vein isolations, left atrial appendage occlusions, electrophysiology studies, and ventricle tachycardia ablations. My responsibilities also involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to malfunctioning or damaged components. I serve as a liaison between the hospital and the medical equipment companies, ensuring effective communication and coordination. With a specialization in ablation procedures and rhythm disorders, I collaborate closely with electrophysiologists, surgical assistants, nurses, fellow engineers, and support specialists from medical equipment companies. Together, we work as a team to ensure the smooth execution of procedures and optimal patient care. In addition to my clinical support role, I contribute to ongoing medical research focused on assessing the effects of different ablation types and protocols. By actively participating in research initiatives, I aim to enhance our understanding of treatment outcomes and advance the field of electrophysiology.
At Les Maurice we prepare and serve a wide variety of sweet and savoury crêpes as well as ice cream and milkshakes. I operate and maintain the crêpe grills and all other kitchen equipment. It is a fast-paced, all-round job where I strive to meet customer demands as quickly as possible while maintaining high quality standards. I provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions and making small talk in various languages.
Voor mijn master scriptie heb ik een evaluatie project gedaan waarin ik de kwaliteit en bruikbaarheid van diverse (medische) meetinstrumenten heb beoordeeld. Deze meetinstrumenten zijn allemaal geschikt om de ziekte activiteit van reumatoïde artritis in de handgewrichten te bepalen. Naast de mate waarin de instrumenten de ziekte activiteit konden meten heb ik ook gekeken naar de mogelijkheden of deze instrumenten in de thuisomgeving van patiënten gebruikt kan worden. Er is namelijk een vraag naar hybride zorg in Nederland. Tijdens mijn thesis was ik verantwoordelijk voor het opstellen van het onderzoeksprotocol dat (succesvol) werd getoetst door de medisch ethische commissie van het MCL. Daarnaast heb ik individueel de meetopstellingen bedacht, opgezet en beheerd en het project gedurende de hele tijd in goede banen geleid. Ik heb tientallen patiënten in een klinische setting gemeten en vervolgens alle data gearchiveerd en geanalyseerd. Tot slot heb ik hierover mijn scriptie geschreven. Mijn autonomie, proactieve houding en enthousiasme werden geprezen en ik heb het project afgesloten met een mooi resultaat, namelijk een 8/10!
