I am an experienced IP optometrist and joined Rawlings in 1996. I have always been passionate about providing excellent care at one of the oldest family opticians in England (est. 1895). After joining Rawlings I enjoyed my role as an optometrist at the Croydon practice but was keen to become more involved in the company (having been delighted with the work environment at Rawlings) and was thrilled to accept a position on the board after a couple of years. I have always had a interest in expanding optometry's role in the community and undertook additional qualification in glaucoma, medical retina and IP. Through our local LOC we were successful in setting up many local additional services schemes and now undertake a full range of local MECS, Paediatric, Glaucoma shared care and Post cataract services. My fellow Board members are equally passionate about Independent Optometry and our 12 branches all have a boutique feel with personalised service and attention to detail along with comfortable unrushed appointments being part of our ethos, to allow patients the time to get the care and advice they need. Working with experienced Dispensing Opticians in every branch gives a truly expert team. The introduction of audiology to our business has been an exciting development. With the impact of uncorrected hearing loss now being linked to an increased risk of conditions like dementia and depression, I am pleased that we can offer services for a second sense! I graduated from Aston University in 1989 and undertook additional qualifications from City University. Outside of work I support Crystal Palace football club and enjoy keeping fit.
