With our children out of the nest, and a desire to get to know my wife again as the lovely girl I married in 1984 (and not as “Mom” to our children), I am hanging out my shingle again as a consultant. Much of my professional life has been in the high-end consulting field, and it will afford me an opportunity to conduct engagements in different areas of the U.S and a few other countries. Looking forward to visiting my Army (2nd LT.) son in Italy with my bride in tow and do some work for the State Department. See the biggest ball of string on old 66, and whatever else we want to do that is near a client. I will leave Winton-Ireland, Strom & Green in good stead and as a richer man in friends than when I arrived. I have worked across this half the planet, and Winton-Ireland, Strom & Green was a wonderful experience. The culture, the people, the laughter, and kindness and genuine esprit de corps amongst the family within that company will remain in my heart forever. While CIO of one of the largest growers of deciduous fruit, nut and shade trees in the world that provided trees for both commercial orchards and the home garden trade. Revamped and updated three sales departments and providing the highest level of professionalism and integrity in the industry. Met the challenges’ of multinational distribution, razor accurate inventory of living plants so that cash flow and budget decisions, sales projections, customer demand and near exponential government oversight required the highest attention to detail in Technology projects. Mobilized every possible position and automated every possible task to remain the world leadership status. Completed a project to technically address/plan for everything that could be measured and evaluated, met that goal by FY2015. Procured and project managed the deployment of a 7 ton, 75-foot, robotic tree measurement and counter that validated via military grade optical cameras to ensure proper sizing and quality. Run rates in the to the thousands of trees per minute were realized reducing manual labor. Deployed a varied amount of environmental sensors measuring all facets of growth from seed/cutting to delivery in the growers field. Temperature, humidity and other factors are tracked via a unique combination of LTE, WiFi, WiMax, 5G and mobile data loggers. All areas from the growing fields to the production barns to through cold storage and healing areas are monitored 24/7 with alerts generated to alert staff in cases of boundary excess.
After being elected President, grew organization from a closed group of 6 to an "open arms" group of 54 parents and local business leaders who became engaged stakeholders in less than 30 days. Developed custom, age attractive apparrel for healthy revenue streams. Increased support for all athletic programs including safer equipment, updated uniforms, proper hydration and nutrient intake. Created a culture of inclusiveness and empowerment. Hired strong leaders such as a well connected and independent board of directors. We got things done that improved the athletic experience for all involved.
