I have three core talents. Asking questions. Building relationships. Polished storyteller. This began in traditional media, editing motoring magazines, publishing for BT & ad copywriting, before establishing WordZone in '89. For many years we ran The Sunday Times Enterprise Network with weekly pages in the UK & Irish editions of the paper, plus magazines, websites, broadcast emails & business conferences. We went on to run the Business Club for the Daily Telegraph & multiple LinkedIn groups for The Wall Street Journal & Oracle. We also operated numerous LinkedIn groups specializing in the HR profession (including Linked:HR, the biggest single-profession group, with almost a million members). Over the past two years in Portugal, all this experience has come together in a book about asking questions & a TV drama series about two individuals who use questions to build relationships - but who have very different motives....
WordZone originally created and ran business communities such as Enterprise Network and Business Club for The Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph newspapers in the UK. This experience with high-quality editorial, multi-media programmes and group dynamics transferred neatly into social media. WordZone went on to run LinkedIn groups, Twitter accounts and other social media activity for blue-chip clients including WSJ Pro within the Dow Jones group. It became the only Preferred Supplier of LinkedIn group management to Oracle in 2012 - followed by LinkedIn services to The Wall Street Journal.
Metzano operated dozens of HR-related LinkedIn groups including Linked:HR – the largest single-profession group on LinkedIn with one million member, together with other social media activities for many Human Resources organisations.
Working with venture-capital reporters and editors from The Wall Street Journal to build a powerful network of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, limited partners, industry lawyers, back office financial personnel and executive recruiters.
