• Set up an Airbus N.A. Sourcing Office including developing and implementing the full suite of procedures and processes and building a team and Procurement presence in the N.A. • Developed and implemented a N.A. Sourcing Strategy for Airbus. • Maximised leverage and savings from a $180m. spend from all the Airbus Business Units in the U.S. averaging savings of 18% per project. • Ensured the Supply Chain and Quality Performance of the N.A. supply base across all commodities. • Increased the spend in the N.A. through Procurement Marketing. • Raised the profile of Airbus in the N.A. Aerospace Industry.
• Implemented aligned objectives trans-nationally and trans-functionally and international meetings and reporting structure within the first month. • Completed a major re-organisation of the function within three months and reduced headcount by 15% by negotiating with major stakeholders internationally. • Reduced quality defects by 45% to 546ppm (a record!) and improved delivery performance from 91 to 94% and Depth of Delay by 65% in a time of major change in the organisation; whilst exceeding all other objectives . • Implemented new projects to further improve Supplier Performance including Supplier Dossiers; Industrial Dossiers; Process Capability; FMEA’S; Cp/Cpk reducing costs by 17% at one supplier, many of these a first in Airbus.
• Developed and progressive implementation of the commodity strategy. • Successfully re-structured the organisation enabling a 30% reduction in headcount. • Negotiated long-term contracts with suppliers, including commitments to initiatives, whilst achieving a $10m./ann. saving during a period where titanium prices had trebled. • Improvement in on time delivery performance from 76% to 92% & PPM reduced by 97% from 24000 to 777. • Mapped the Global Sourcing status and developed a 5 year strategic plan.
