Developing IT Strategy for a company undergoing significant transformation following the purchase of Arriva from Deutsche Bahn by i squared.
Developed a new Target Operating Model that transformed the IT Function into the Data, Digital and Technology function to manage and support Data activity, Digital Services and IT Services. Implemented a data driven Governance structure that was adopted and implemented by the wider business. Chaired the IT and Digital Services Steering Group and sub Working Groups to drive Strategy and operational performance. Worked on the development of a Corporate Data Lake and associated AI capability; initially looking to improve business inter-activity and decision making in the areas of Delays, Train Operations, Revenue Management and Digital experience for customers.
TfW Transport for Wales, plans coordinates, and operates elements of Wales transport network, including the Train Operating Company. Member of The Senior Leadership Team planning and implementing a multi-modal transport system in Wales; and member of Committees planning transport initiatives in Wales. Board member for TfW/Amey Joint Venture to develop and implement transport solutions. Involved in mergers and acquisitions of TfW Rail (previously Keolis Amey), Pullman Engineering, Traveline Cymru Call Centre, and Traws Cymru Bus Company. Inherited a small team 3 which I transformed into the 70-person IT & Digital Services Centre of Excellence with Programme Management, Digital, Data and Information, Software Development, DevSecOps and IT Operations to support TfW and other government agencies. Digital Transformation portfolio management including Pay As You Go, Mobility as a Service, ERP, CRM, TfW website & Travel portal, Data Warehouse, Fleet planning and logistics. IT and information strategy, governance, and security in a government owned Transport organisation. Negotiating, changing processes, and occasionally suppliers saved up to 70% on projects and infrastructure. Key third-party supplier relationship and contract management.
