I retired with over forty three years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas industry; the last thirty three spent in a wide range of UK commercial and finance roles. I left BP near the end of 2009 and became an independent commercial consultant during 2010. My key strengths (and track record) lie in taking major fields through all phases from pre-project to very late life production operations, delivering co-venturer alignment, financial sanction, all JV, Unit, T&P and other third party agreements and major construction contracts. I've led identification and evaluation of corporate and asset A&D opportunities ranging in size from multiple producing hubs to individual properties. I’ve established and run performance management and reporting systems and represented companies at many OpComs, ComComs and Audit Committees. My technical background is in geology and I have experience in many types of audit and internal control system design.
Commercial advisor for CATS and ETS pipeline systems. Led evaluation of alternative hydrocarbon accounting systems and negotiated extension of support contract for current system. Led evaluation of potential tax exposures. Supported evaluation of new business opportunities and traditional business development opportunities. Negotiated studies agreements and TPA amendments and carried out tariff rebasing calculations, annual true-up reconciliations, annual tariff inflation calculations and H2S and Hg processing tariff calculations.
Senior Commercial Adviser; led CTIA, TPA and DSA negotiations for Greater Warwick Area (GWA); ComCom rep and occasional OpCom and DevCom rep for GWA; supported various commercial disputes and enquiries in SNS; negotiated helicopter services sharing agreement; compiled obligations register for Spirit UK assets.
