- Working closely with an entrepreneur to design and build a system to remove exhaust fumes from fossil fuelled vehicles. - Coordinating a redesign of the concept (using off the shelf components) and constructing a prototype at the UTAC proving ground in Bedfordshire.
- Directed day-to-day surfacing operations and oversaw teams of personnel to deliver contracts under tight time constraints, and meet all targets in line with client expectations. - Prepared programmes, contract cost plans and other organisational reports as required for relevant personnel. - Forged strong relationships with key stakeholders and drove performance to achieve business objectives / KPIs. - Undertook the effective resource management of internal resources and supply chain partners. - Ensured contracts were completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard at all times.
- Held full operational and commercial responsibility for 10 concrete plants (concrete, mortar and screed) 3 asphalt plants and 8 sand and gravel quarries with 200+ staff members to meet all targets / KPIs, and additionally managed the Contracting Division of the company. - Directed all aspects of strategic planning, labour and operational performance management within the business. - Managed a fleet of vehicles (tankers, articulated, mixers, rigids and insulated tippers) workshops and laboratories. - Coordinated teams across divisions and implemented a culture strong on teamwork, collective goals and results. - Successfully integrated 2 acquired businesses into the region (C&G Concrete & Humberside Aggregates) and assisted with the integration of Hope Construction Materials. - Ensured robust plant safety and security procedures were in place at all times, and maintained compliance with all required policies and legislation. - Undertook performance management for direct reports, conducted appraisals and provided direction. - Delivered reports and presentations to senior leadership personnel on progress levels and updates.
