In the early days, The Lavis Company also managed school’s private badminton halls and established a badminton training school - Looi Badminton Academy, now grown to become a full fledged club “Petaling Badminton Club”, a professional badminton club participating in the Malaysia Purple League. Since then, the Lavis company has undertook several consultancy and building projects – providing services to design, construct and operate sports centres around Klang Valley including the Datuk Lee Chong Wei Sports Arena at Sentosa, Old Klang Road, KL constructed in 2010 and also 4 other “Sports Arena” branded comprehensive sports centre in Malaysia. LA Property has built its forte into land sourcing, design, build, operate & transfer (DBOT), certified sports complex management company and as an intellectual property owner. Today, the company has diversified into some industry that the team have specialization in such as building and management of sports facilities/complexes, sports-related technology platform, sports supplement retail, budget hotels, preventive healthcare, educational enrichment programs, sports event management, innovative branding, marketing & international sales. Based on this, LooiBA always strives to provides more programs and activities for our junior members The Academy was founded by Jack Koh, CEO of LA Corp in the year 2006, when he resigned from The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM). With the advise of Badminton Enthusiast, Mr Wong Wei Choy (aka Looi), Jack decided to start an academy with the intention of imparting all the skills that he had acquired throughout his career as a professional Badminton player. Jack considers LOOIBA as a platform for all the retired national players, to experience working life of a Coach, and to provide something in return to the long supportive community. “Being a coach is a totally a different life experience from being a player. A coach needs to be very well prepared and well disciplined towards the players.
