I am a hard-working and motivated second year undergraduate reading French and History at Lincoln College. I am keen to explore opportunities in the world of law and build upon my prior experience. My strong academic background combined with my passion for languages and humanities demonstrate my well-rounded and inquisitive character.
I oversee the operations and logistics of the organisation's committee and its 500+ student volunteers, alleviating food waste and poverty by packing up and distributing leftover catered food to rough sleepers across the city of Oxford. I also manage the collaboration and communication with college kitchens and other volunteers groups and organisations. This has included working with other student-led organisations to form the Oxford Student Social Action Coalition (OSSAC), which has allowed us to streamline and improve our services to the people of Oxford.
I represent the views and opinions of the 300 undergraduates at Lincoln across the 10+ college and university committees that I sit on. As president, I also lead the JCR committee, working closely with the 45+ officers and representatives across various sub-committees and working groups.
I play a key role in running the operations for residential study days, offering prospective year 12 students insight into life at university and Oxford, as well as answering any questions related to academics or applications. I also offer college tours and talks to visitors, from prospective students interested in applying to Oxford, to primary school children learning what university is. At the most recent Oxford open day, I also did a demonstration interview for history in front of an audience, talking through my perceptive thought process when presented with a source without provenance.
As an ambassador for my college, I made sure the online process ran smoothly, checking technology was working and ensuring that candidates were calm and prepared for their interview.
As President, I run various history-themed events throughout the term for Lincoln students. Most notably, I organised a trip taking 25 students to Blenheim Palace in May 2025, for which I oversaw the logistics for transport, ticket purchase and entry. As Treasurer, I manage the finances for this society, which includes seeking the funding to run events and tracking its expenses.
I give weekly online tuition to two students aged 10 and 12 years old for both history and maths, creating my own resources tailored specifically to their needs and interests. For English, I run weekly reading classes for a group of ESL students aged 7-8, creating my own resources to improve their English lanuguage skills and teach them about English culture.
For the TT25 edition of The Turl Magazine, I was part of the text editing team, writing my own piece for the edition's theme 'Folk' based on my personal experiences of the culture and identity as a Malaysian in the UK and at Oxford. I also oversaw the editing of writing submissions from others for the publication.
