The Coordinator-General is the Head of the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) and the Melbourne Metro Rail Authority (MMRA). A small team works within the Office of the Coordinator General (OCG) to coordinate and support the project teams across a number of disciplines. As Senior Advisor, Program Dynamics, I work within the OCG to provide leadership, support, advice and assurance in relation to the effective operation of the Major Transport Infrastructure Program, both internally (Government) and externally (market) facing. My key accountabilities include 1. Providing leadership, support, advice and assurance in relation to the internal operations of the Major Transport Infrastructure Program, including in the areas of risk management and procurement. 2. Working constructively with the Administrative Offices to ensure a consistent, and where necessary consolidated, approach to risk management issues across the Major Transport Infrastructure Program. 3. Overseeing and providing effective management risk management systems and procedures for the OCG. 4. Providing insightful, reliable and robust data and analysis in relation to dynamics surrounding the broader construction and consultant market’s engagement with the Major Transport Infrastructure Program, including areas of emerging issues or risks. 5. Assist the Coordinator-General in managing relationships with government departments and agencies and other stakeholders in relation to program issues. 6. Actively contributing to the development of a positive team culture. 7. Setting an example for others through demonstrating a collaborative approach and behaving ethically in accordance with the Public Sector values and code of conduct.
My key accountability is to ensure the department has a good practice procurement function that ensures probity, complies with legislation and government policies, operates effectively and has a strong focus on value for money. The role also champions cost control, efficiency and best practice procurement approaches across the portfolio and seeking opportunities to drive portfolio purchasing opportunities.
