I am a Data Engineering and Senior Technology Analyst on the Data, Analytics and AI team in BearingPoint. My primary focus is on FinTech and Financial Services. With a background in Financial Mathematics and Data Science with Machine Learning, I am a keen problem solver for challenging technical problems. I thrive in solving the tough challenges that others cannot solve and love learning new technologies and tools to help me do so. With the Snowpro core certification from Snowflake I have built streaming and batch data pipelines. I am experienced in implementing the end-to-end solution from ingestion to reporting, dashboards, and AI outputs. I am currently working towards a Snowflake Advanced certification. As a part of my Masters and bachelor’s I have developed skills in various mathematical areas such as PDEs, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Probability. In coding I have strong abilities with Python (Including machine learning libraries), SQL (Postgres, MySQL, and T-SQL), R, Excel (VBA), Matlab, and Java. I have covered finance at various levels and was a tutor of finance, and probability and statistics (with business focus).
Worked on a SQL database for a national scale government identification service. Helped implement fixes and changes to improve on the current process and modernise the systems. Built and Maintain a system to improve financial regulations in the financial fund space for pensions. Updating regularly the system for the new regulation framework for over 50% of the nations pension funds using PowerApps, SQL, PowerShell, and Azure. The results of this tool save hundreds of hours of challenging administration work saving over €100,000. Lead and worked on various Snowflake for finance tasks with the creation of Streamlit apps, integrating Cortex AI into daily workflows, and helping to cost optimise systems to reduce credits consumption. Built end-to-end Snowflake unified data models and pipelines utilising my SnowPro Core certification.
Teaching finance and statistics to over 700 students total. Helping the lecturer to curate classes based on the areas that students need to most assistance in. Working 1:1 with students that required extra help.
During the course of this internship I was part of a migration team moving risk monitoring data seemlessly from one provider to another. It involved significant amounts of team planning and communications due to the large number of teams involved. Most of the process was done through FileZilla and stfp with automations being built with VBA. Through this role I grew my understanding of ETL, finance, risk management, and team leadership.
