The Global Security Systems Administrator issues new builds and code changes using "Chef tiers" as well as "infra as code" to automatically deploy VMs and write new modules for new sites where new security infrastructure will be deployed. The Security System Administrator will also take care of NetOps related IP deployment, DHCP Reservations, and other network related issues that may arise. Security patching as well as OS patching on related applications will be handled by the Security Administrator Team. Server, application, desktop and hardware administration. Application deployment and administration include SOX Compliance as well as EPO and other finance and security related applications for Durect. The role will deploy,manage,and assist in various server, desktop, and application upgrades. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform new application, server, workstation implementations and upgrades of existing systems. In charge of the Durect IT helpdesk support of client workstations, servers, and appications in California and Alabama locations for all IT infrastructure. The Lab Management Technician will install new servers, switches, and other hardware into the all major labs of the company. Patching, cabling, and network troubleshooting will also be part of the job duties of the Lab Management Technician. Server OS installs(Linux,CentOS, Unix, etc), hardware upgrades, and system validations will be taken care of. Asset handling, system decommissions as well as updating system inventory on OpenDCIM will be done by the Lab Management Technician. The Engineering Lab Technician will also be taking care of setting up monitoring systems to track power consumption, temperature, and space capacity using SMTP to pull information from PDU's/Sensors to DCIM programs. They will be expected to use scripting languages and be strongly familiar with Linux/CLI to automate monitoring to send email,SMS, and other alerts to the appropriate lab owners. Also strong usage of virtual VM management using VMware, vCenter, and vSphere for deployment, migration, and consolidation.
The engineering intern will be assisting the Engineering Lab Manager with designing, maintaining, and sustaining the engineering laboratories for the company. This includes but not limited to working with servers, computer networks, as well as keeping inventory and assisting in purchasing and documenting all inventory in OpenDCIM. He will also be using Linux and MySQL for tasks such as consolidation of existing systems to ensure capacity for new systems to be developed for lab customers.
Jr. Sysadmin is responsible for all aspects of the Proofpoint Corporation & Engineering server and data center environments. On a daily basis manages Linux Systems, OS, OS upgrades, Patches, Storage, Automation scripting, finance applications and Account Management as well as server hardware firmware. -Install & configure Linux and or Windows OS in VM and physical environments. -Assist in daily monitoring and compliance activities for key systems including finance systems, Production systems, and application systems. -Install and configure web and application servers on Linux: Apache & Tomcat -Research and recommend new equipment, tech, and services. -Purchase & work with various vendors for procurement and configuration. -Manage patching process for Linux and Windows servers. -Create and maintain automation scripts for configuration, backup, and restoration using languages using bash or automated services such as Kaseya. -Provide tier II support for troubleshooting. -Manage and monitor server backups and disaster recovery process. -Create documentation for procedures, designs, and policies. -Basic project management skills, good written and verbal skills, able to execute quickly. -Provide on-call support on rotating schedule as needed for emergency situations including outside normal business hours. -Account/Security Management- Managing User accounts, profiles and permissions in the system using finance applications such as Tripwire. Map access in response to personnel changes. Maintain security including sharing rules and security levels. Create and maintain and grant /remove access from financial applications. -System Audit - Setup Audit Trail and look for any changes/adds/deletions made, document the changes in documents. Track all inventory of linux based systems in the environment both physical and Virtual Machines.
